I am so so happy to hear your good news!!!!!!  My Vit D first bloodtest is due next week so I'll have a better idea.  My Primary Doc wanted to wait 10 weeks to check and my Endocrinologist (thyroid history) said no way and to test in 4 weeks for which I agree.  I feel better in the feeling sluggish dept and feeling down moods for sure is pretty much gone .... my MSK pain was ok for the most part, but interestingly it *seems* my ankle is doing better since going on the Vit D .. that has a severe tibial tendonitis and on meds for it .. I'm hoping the Vit D is helping and that maybe it will find some relief but too soon to tell for sure.

This community is wonderful for all of us!!!!!  So glad you posted,

Glad your still doing well.  As we mentioned I do not think my doctor has me on enough,
partially because too much can also increase stones so he is starting off very conservative only 400 iu 2 x a day.  My compounding pharmacist told me to always
take it with fish oils since this helps dramatically with absorption.  I really can not tell
much difference yet.

I am much better pain wise since starting a the antibiotic however
I now have this weird rash on my right hand and left upper thigh that is not responding to anything....???  My pharmacist says it can't be the antibiotics though because it is only in one place, but it gets worse each day when I take my antibiotics and looks awful!  ???  I thought maybe poison ivy from the dogs but it is not responding to benadryl or cortisone which is weird!

Shelly, I had a very weird set of 2 times having a rash/hives which came and actually sent me to my doc in October .. that, along with black and blue bruising under my big toes which was odd too (all bloodwork was okay on it inc. blood cell count, etc) but looking back .. I do believe it is all connected to the Vit D defficiency ...

The other symptom I have which is very odd is profuse sweating of the soles of my feet ... a bit better since the mo of Vit D but enough to change 100% cotton socks 2X a day!!!!!!  I have read that you can sweat like that on feet/palms of hands ... I would have profuse coldness in the hands.

See all of those things I thought were thyroid so went to the doc and now see they most likely are Vit D connected but no 100% proof.

Am glad you are doing better since the antibiotic ...... I do wonder on the reaction .. could be an inert ingredient .. wonder if swap out generic brands if it still continues  ????

I called the company about the Vit D and they said there was nothing in it to cause the
reaction.  I tried putting the Doxycline in a gelatin capsule and it make me feel soo sick..
there must be something to the capsule.  I contacted the dermatologist
here and through another site.  The other one ask for a picture and all say if it is
better soon to go to my doctor... grrrr... I see my URO March 11th, I just don't have money for more doctor visits... but it is not improving either.

I bruise soo easily too I wonder if that isn't from the Vit D deficiency?  I would love to find an article on all the symptoms that low level can cause?????

I appreciate all the input!

I did call the company and they seem sure it is not the Vit D, I however react to soo many fillers I never know what is causing it.  It seems a little better now on my wrist but now I broke out on the other upper thigh too>>>

No one seems t have a clue, and all say if it was the antibiotics I should have it all over.. which might happen if this continues etc. LOL

I will talk to my doctor again, next week

Here's my update written on the thyroid community:

9.4 --> 21 but not high enough yet so doubling the dose to 100,000 iu's for a month and recheck.

I have MSK and would like to know if anyone experiences muscle fatigue and rash on hands when I over exhert myself. I know that there is not much of information about the disorder but I find that when I over do it, I break out in a rash and I am weak for days. Also the feeling of swollen joints. Have been through alot of testing but nothing other than the MSK and vitamin D Diffeiciency. My doctor mentioned that my MSK is progressing slightly. Has anyone elvse experienced this.

The Vit D deficiency can and does cause the fatigue!  Are they treating it?   It might also be causing the rash since it can cause and be connected to immune disorders like Fibromyalgia etc.

Hi Shelly,

Yes, I have been diagnosed with Vitamin D deficiency and the doctor placed me on 50,000 international units monthly. I have been reading some of the posts and feel comforted to know that people with MSK are experiencing the same symptoms as I. I recently am feeling swollen and the rash is on both my hands. I feel very tired and heavy. My doctor was going to mark Fibromyalgia in my chart but I asked him not to. I feel that the symptoms are caused by my kidney disorder. What I am feeling is not muscle weakness but muscle fatigue.

thanks for responding.
