is organic chia seeds ok to add to a person's diet
Pt hx is calcium oxalate stones x37 years. Since utilizing litholink studies, treatment has been:
25mg hctz, k+citrate 40meq every dy increase in h20 to out put of 1800cc urine /dy. 15oz of lemonade every day.
pt watches intake of oxalate, calcium from dairy products. pt has been free of stones for 5 yrs. recent ct scan confirms same.
chia seeds are high in calcium. Pt wants to loose weight and would like to add this orgainic chia seed to her daily diet, but does not know if the calcium in the seed could lead to a hyper reabsorption of ca+ in the bowel.
