when you was in the womb

Well tis is a strange question, Do you know if your Mother had any complications during her pregancy when carrying you?

I know ths is an odd question and I dont really know why I am asking it...

But when my Mum was pregnant with me she had an awful time and was in bed for 6 months of the pregnancy. They did tests on her and she was told that I was so small I probably wouldn’t survive, then they said that they thought I was Spina Bifida… When I was actually 10lb 5oz and Healthy on the outside. A couple of years later diagnosed with hypertrophy and MSK.

My mom and I have had this conversation since no one else in my family has MSK and my father only had 1 kidney stone that we know of.  My mother had a still born son, from Toxemia 9mos before she became pregnant with me.  We have often wondered if this effected me.

Shelly that is terribly sad.. It does make you wonder though. As far as I know there is no one in my family that has MSK though my great gran died of kidney failure in the 1960's and she was oer 80... I often wonder if she had it as they were very limited in those days.

Hi Sarah and shelly,
I asked my mum about this today. Both my mum and I suffer with scoliosis as did my maternal great aunt. My brother has had a few kidney stones and my dad was apparently diagnosed with msk years ago but has never suffered with it. I did (jokingly) ask my parents what on earth they were doing putting their mixed up genes together. What a messed up monster they created. Hope you two are ok. X x
