31-could these be early menopause symptoms?

Hi, I'm 31 years old and had my first child at 29. Recently, I've been experiencing occasional hot flashes during the day and severe night sweats very frequently.  I've always gotten hot quite easily and I gained alot of weight when I was pregnant that I havent been able to shed yet so at first I thought I was just reacting to the heat more easily than usual, but then the night sweats began and they are terrible.  Most nights my hair is soaked like I was in the shower, then I get chills for a while after.  My periods are regular, but Im on the pill and I dont know if that makes a difference. My mom actually suggested that I might be experiencing symptoms of early menopause since most of the women in my family have gotten it earlier that what is considered average, but none this early.  Most of them were right around 40. Otherwise, I'm not experiencing any other symptoms and have no illnesses, as far as i know of course. Could this be just very early beginning of menopause??
