Am I going through Menopause?

by Angela41, Jul 03, 2009 09:12AM
I'm 42 years old. I think I may be in the first stages of Menopause. I have all of the symtoms. I have my tubes tied does that cause you to go through the change earlier. I just started another period yesterday and had one 21/2 weeks ago. They are very heavy. Is that also cause by the tubes being tied?

Hi Angela!

Tubal ligation is often credited with causing women to go into early menopause. One theory is that it interferes with the blood supply to the ovaries, causing their premature failure. But there are many women who start to spontaneously experience perimenopause symptoms at your age, and even younger.

Aside form the bleeding, what symptoms are you having?
