Brown spotting after menopause

I am 55 years old and have not had a period for almost one year now.  I do have a physical, mammogram, pap smear, blood tests, urine tests done religiously every year.  I've recently noticed brown spotting, a bit like just before or just after a period and I notice in the toilet bowl sometimes little brown things floating there (maybe sloughing off the uterus?).  Just wondered if this sounded normal.

Hi Marion,  I have the same problem going on. I am 40 years old. I have had this off and on, traces of old blood now and then, and thought it was from the menopause. (yes i am going through it early) My doctor found traces of this blood in my urine culture and says that its hematuria. I am not sure if that is the case, as i am wondering the same as you.... pass on any info please, if you find out anything. It seemed normal to me, but the doctor wants to do more tests.
