Celexa and Effexor

Hi,  I have been on Celexa for 8 years and Effexor for about 8 months and have decided to stop taking both cold turkey.  It's been 3 days for the Celexa and 2 days for the Effexor. I am 43 and have had a total hyeterectomy 5 years ago.  I did have a crying spell yesterday, but must say felt better.  Is this normal??  or is ok to just stop the medicine??

Thanks

Most people need to ween off these medications for a few weeks to minimize any side effects. Speak with your doctor for a program to help you minimize any side effects. It might vary depending on your personal history.

I have taken both of those meds. I would say that you need to ween yourself off of them. Going cold turkey can cause side effects especially with the effexor. I had crying spells and a few mood swings.
