Complex ovarian cyst and depo-provera

55 years old and postmenopausal. I was diagnosed with complex ovarian cyst. Gynocologist decided to try Depo-provera to shrink it.  After 3 months, ultrasound showed no ovaries but very swollen Fallopian tubes (without fluid).  Gyno says no treatment required.  Why are my tubes swollen and where did my ovaries go?  Gyno avoided question.

A. Your ovaries are still there, but the Depo-Provera shrank them and makes them harder to see on ultrasound. If they are not seen, that is good and means that the cyst has likely disappeared and the ovaries are normal.

I am not sure why your tubes are swollen. It is possible that the

Thanks for your answer.  I will follow your advice and ask for another ultrasound in a couple of months.  
I was concerned about the"missing" ovaries because the overy with the cyst was not found in the first ultrasound.  The same overy, complete with cyst, showed up on the second ultrasound.
