D&C Results - Folded Uterus

Wasn't quite sure what forum to post this under but I'm 50 and headed towards menopause and thought some on here may have had similar happenings.

Had D&C due to pap smear showing endometrial cells in uterus. Dr. says its high dysplasia and that some structual changes to the cell nucleus is seen - not much - but some. If anyone can explain how this particular condition can lead to cancerous cells I'd be most appreciative and at what point they suggest hysterectomy.

Also, prior to D&C doc told me that uterus has dropped somewhat and that during D&C found that uterus was actually folded over somewhat.

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on these conditions for me.
