Early Menopause!

Hello,

I am 43 and have been in menopause for 4 years. I have had blood tests and my dr. confirmed it.  He said I was about 8 years before the average.  Anyone else out there in very early menopause?

Hi HumbleBee2,
thanks for writing to me.  I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism today.  I bet it is from menapause also.  I hope the medication they give me for it does not make me gain any more weight.
I am sorry you hate early menopause, I do too!  I try to go to the gym alot, but lately I have been shaking and have muscle soreness, (from the hyperthyroidism)
I have 2 kids also, they are still young, 6 and 13, so I put all my energy into them.  They help me forget things!
I will add you as a friend and you can do the same for me.
Take care Humble

I am 41 years old and am in menopause for about 6 years but probably longer since I had been on the pill until I was 35.  My overies shut down for whatever reason which caused me to have thyroid (hyperthyroid) which was caused from the menapause itself...I went on drugs and my thyroid is normal.
I hate it and it *****.  Not that I really looked forward to having periods but now have to take prempro,  Plus I feel it aged me faster too!!! Once had a athletic shape body and now I have gained weight and looks like I have a 70 year old tummy!!!!!!  I blame it on the menopause itself since my mother looked awesome even in her 50s.  So I have to watch what I eat and am really working on the extra excersise since my metabolism is working slower than it ever did.  So I feel for you if you feel the same as I do.  Thank god I had 2 kids earlier in my life I was blessed with that!  THen omce they started having thier periods mine stopped LOL. Anyway hope you are dealing with it ok.  It took me a lomg time and actually I still feel upset about it.  But thank god it could have been something worse like a disease.
