I just recently started having horrible night sweatsSweat electrolytes test Sweat test Sweating Sweating - absent and some hot flashes during the day. I have been umable to sleep, maybe getting 2 hours of sleep per night for the last month., and that's not 2 hours straight. Up until about a month ago I had periods that were fairly regularRegular insulin and none of these symptoms. WHAT HAPPENED! can this really happen this fast or could something else be going on with me. I just turned 50, and up until now have had no symptoms of menopause. Any one else feeling this way! You know misery loves company and I could surely use some. Thanks for any imput concerning this and any suggestions would be helpful. : )
Oh i was exactly the same as that, 1 hours sleep at the most and then the sweatsSweat electrolytes test Sweat test Sweating Sweating - absent and hot flushes every hour on the hour 24 hours a day for 2 months, periods played up well it stopped for 5 months..Then had thyroid test, well there it was Hypothyroidism, on meds and it all stopped, have this checked out as its not always connected to menopause Dawn
I can totally relate. I have been waking every 1.5 -2 hours for about 4 years now. Nothing has helped. In terms of sleep aidsAids Aids - resources Early symptomatic hiv infection, nothing has helped.
I don't know what to tell you as I have found nothing to help me.
I sympathize with you sister. What has helped me..... thyroid levels normalized ( I was hypothyroidHypothyroidism Hypothyroidism - primary Hypothyroidism - secondary Neonatal hypothyroidism Primary and secondary hypothyroidism), bioidentical hormones ( progesterone very low, estrogen dominant- thus no sleeping). I take herbal remedies-a combination pill called sleep max ( melatonin helps some people) and I drink one glass of soy milk daily. It really helps me with hot flashes at night. It takes about one month to notice a difference, but if you stop ( such as on vacation or such) for a few days they come back with a vengence. I told my friend and she started drinking it too and now swears it works too. She went to take care of mother recovering from surgery and within a week of no soy milk the hot flashes were back she said. Started drinking again and they went away or greatly reduced in intensity.
Good luck to you, this menopause is NO fun, but it is SO great to know we are not alone... or crazy!!
Thanks to all who responded to my post. Glad to say I am doing much better. I started immediately on a herb called Mecafem. I have to say it started to lessen the hot flashes almost immediately. I still get them but not quite as frequently or as long in duration. I would recommed this product. I also am drinking (1) glass per day of silk soy milk. I like the Lite chocolate. Also am taking a multiple vitamin and 2 vitamin E capsules per day(1,000mg) . The mecafem has a website it's www.Mecafem.com. I was skeptical but it seems to work for me. I take the recommended (6) capsules per day. I take 3 in the morning and 3 at night. Also, I recently saw my GP and am scheduled to have some thyroid testing done and some general blood work-up. She also recommended testing my vitamin D level. As I said earlier, I am still having my period and want to make sure that something else is going on with mysself, besides the menopause! Keep you posted on the results. Good luck to all. This "mental pause" thing really does stink!!!!!
You might consider asking your doctor to check your hormones or refer you to someone who can..
Good luck to you!! Remember you are not alone.... I keep telling myself that every day!!
I forgot to mention that in my post, my doctor is doing a hormone panel. I had a blood workup done yesterday and am now just waiting for the results! Will keep you posted. Thanks for the suggestion.
I don't know what to tell you as I have found nothing to help me.
Do you take any kind of hormones?
