Hyster, high grade HPV and LGSIL

I am 42, had a total hysterectomy in 1991 due to endometrosis and Stage 2 precancer.  No family history of cancer. About 3 months ago, I had an abnormal pap come back (LGSIL) with HPV present.  Went to a new doctor, had a new pap and colposcopy 3 weeks ago.  Results came back:  biopsy negative and pap positive for LGSIL and high grade HPV.  Doctor gave me 4 options:
1.  Wait 6 months and do another pap/colposcopy
2.  Use medication to "slough off" the layer of skin in the vagina.  Has side effects.
3.  Do colposcopy and additional biopsies.
4.  Do pelvic CAT scan to be sure the vaginal abnormalities are not coming from other places.

How is this "normally" treated?  I am very sensitive to medicines.  I don't know what to do.  Any information you can share would be greatly appreciated!!!  Thank you.

One more question...Based on your experience, are the side effects (burning, blistering, scaring) severe with the use of the medicine to remove the outer lining of the skin severe?  Is there a way to counter these side effects?

Thank you!
