Initial worsening of symptoms on hormone patch?

52 yrs old, menopausal for a year. started
'combipatch' 2 days ago for terrible night sweats. Symptoms have worsened the past two nights.  Is this a normal reaction before things get better? do the hormones need to build up in your system before they start helping?

thank you, doctor.  I was mistakenly led to believe that results would be immediate (within 12 hours)...a more conservative presentation of the medication would have been preferred!

HI,
You need to give it some time. The absorption via the patch depends on a lot of things and may take a few days to show effect. Hope this helps.
Take care and good luck.
