Lupron for recuring ovarian cysts

I have struggled with ovarian cysts for years.  To the point where every month I am in pretty bad pain from day 5 or 6 until the end of my cycle.  I am 46 and never missed a period.  ultrasounds and scopes have showed simple cysts.  My doctor decided to give me lupron shots to stop my cycles and put my into menopause.  Then i started getting bad hot flashes and mood swings.  She gave me a prescription for Aygestin to help with the symptoms.  From what I learned on line this is a progesterone replacement.  Wont I need some kind of estrogen?  Why do women take estrogen after menopause but not progesterone?  I am so scared to take any HRT, but need to do something to get be able to function again.  The pain every month is unbearable.  the Dr also thinks I might have the type of endo that is inside the uterus.  I was also diagnosed with Chronic Pelvic Congestion (like varicose veins around uterus)..  The dr thinks if the shots help then I will do well with a hysterectomy.  I guess my question is this:  Has anyone suffered with any of this?  And taken Aygestin?  Thanks!
