Menopause or post-surgical stress?

Menopause or post-surgical stress?

I am a 45-year old and had my left ovary and a 5 inch cyst removed in Dec. of 2007. I figured I would recover and get my periods again because I still have the right ovary (I think). I went to my new doctor and we agreed to ultrasound the right ovary to see if it is still there. We couldn't see it on the ultrasound both vaginal ultra and regular ultrasound on the outside. I am wondering if I will ever have another period and if this is a result of post surgical stress. You can imagine all the questions I have as a result. Even though I had a blood test for menopause before the surgery and the results were that I am not menopausal, it was the only blood test for menopause I have ever had. We recently tested my hormone levels and found the levels of hormones indicated menopause. Is there another test I can get that would 100% reveal if the right ovary is gone...like a CAT scan? When my doctor examined me she didn't feel the right ovary there and during the exam I usually feel my ovary being touched and during this exam I told her I didn't feel it either. Can you shed some light on what might be happening or tell me of the appropriate test to find out if it is there or healthy? At least we didn't see any cysts on the right side. Thanks for your help!
