Menstral cycle

by Galmost40, Jun 30, 2009 09:52AM
I am a 39 year old female.  I am experiencing having a cycle twice a month.  It doesn't happen every month though.  Is there something wrong with me?  I did have a tubal ligation several years ago.

Sounds like you could be going through some hormonal fluctuations and very often during our cycles can start changing even in our late 30's then go back to normal then, switch again to irregular.  The one thing that I'd watch is that you're not becoming anemic from the extra periods.  You could be requiring some form of hormone adjustments (birth control or progesterone) to regulate your periods a bit better but, I'm not a doctor so, talking to your doc about it would likely put your mind more at ease.  They're good at calming us down. :)
