Menstruation

My periods are coming less than three weeks apart.  I am 44 years old.  Is this cause for concern?

A. At 44 years of age, this type of change in menstrual pattern is very common and not a reason for concern.  As long as periods are regular like this, there is nothing to be worried about and it sounds like normal changes that occur.  Typically, ones periods will get even slightly closer together, and then get lighter, then start to get further apart.

The closer together periods started for me at 45.

THen I had one cycle that was 22 days long.

One of the things that I did was get checked for everything, got a endometrial biopsy and ultrasound. I had a very small fibroid and an ovarian cyst. Went back for another ultrasound six weeks later and both had shrunk. By that point, I had managed to get a more regular cycle. However, since then, had another long period of extremely light bleeding.

I'm considering the progesterone therapy because it's annoying.
