Mentalpause

Dear Doctor,
I'm 42 and early menopause runs in the family. For the past 16 months I just haven't felt like myself. My symptoms include lightheadedness, nausea, chest pain, anxiety and fatigue. To me it feels like some sort of withdrawl, do women feel withdrawl from hormones??  I have been to 3 different doctors. One said BPV and the other two said allergies. I had xrays done and my sinuses are 'perfect' so I'm assuming this has ruled out the allergies. (never had allergies before in my life). I do have arthritis in my neck.  I have had numerous blood and urine tests, everything always comes back normal (including hormone levels). Pap smears are always normal. My periods are irregular, usually every 24-26 days and very light. Twice in the past year my cycle has been 10 days and I've had periods that are very heavy and last about 10 days.  My blood pressure is fine. My doctor put me on BCP even though I'm a smoker, I took them for one month and my blood pressure skyrocketed. My blood pressure returned to normal within 1 week or so of stopping the pills. The doctor said if my problems were hormonal I would have noticed a difference while taking the pills, within days. I do get anxiety when I go to the doctor and I believe he thinks my problems are anxiety/panic related. I do agree the lightheaded/dizzyness causes some anxiety. I have tried numerious natural remedies such as red clover, black cohosh and natural progesterone cream. They all seem to help short term and then stop. My symptoms come and go, sometimes feel almost normal for a week or so. My question is; what should my next step be? My doctor is open to suggestions and willing to prescibe other hormones. Is there something else I should be checking for? Thank you, Sally
