A. Late periods are very
commonCommon cold. Although the commonest reason is pregnancy, there are many other reasons. Most of the time it is due to a hormonal imbalance that can cause bloating. Cramps may mean that you are about to have a period.
If your period does not come in another week, it is a good idea to make an appointment with your health care provider. Ask to have blood testing for hormones that can affect your period such as
FSH,
LHLh blood test
Lh urine test (home test),
Prolactin,
estrogenHormone replacement therapy and progesterone. These test results can help the doctor understand why you are late. Stress is another reason that periods can be late.
Hopefully, your period will come soon. But if not, your doctor might want to give you the hormone progesterone to bring on a period. Much will depend on the reason you are late. The doctor might repeat the pregnancy test as well just to be sure you are not pregnant, especially if they plan to give you progesterone.
