Osteoporosis

I have a real bad stomach, alot of nausea all the time.  My doctor told me that I have Osteoporosis and wants me to try Forteo an injection for two years.  Has anyone tried this drug and what were your side effects, if any.  I don't want to make my stomach problems worse than there already are.

my bones were the worst score u can have and put me off the lung transplant list.
after 2 years of forteo i have the best score and am currently on the list.   i have learned how to eat better, exercise as good as i can with breathing problems and tolerate the pain of bone and muscle headaches hair thining and hair loss and hair growing out of the end of my nose !  i learned to go with the flow..  if you hurt curl up and take a nap.  lighten the amount that you eat and eat more times a day.  eat ll the fresh veggies you can and fruit.  pay attention to the blood and calcuim  if high follow the proticols in place.  i want to live and live well following the protocols and enduring the pain is what people do who want to live a better life.   now i am going thru a little withdrawal  little  yikes  hurt and aches   BUT i have great bones exercise and a nap will help this pain.  you are apparently ill to need this, you have adjust your life because you are ill, keep adjusting until this treatment is complete.  my hospital says it is miracle drug for me.   i hope this note will be reinforcement for you who reads this.  i really think working with what helps you diet  rest  exercise all the things i ignored before will save my life now.  so take heed.  i may not get lungs but i will live better until i do not need lungs anymore thanks to forteo.

I'm a 59 year old female and have been using forteo for 14 months.  Until recently I had no side affects, except for mild drowsiness right after injection.  Lately I've been having leg aches and restless legs for quite a few hours ( usually about 4 or 5 ) after the injection.  I have an appt. with my Dr. at O.S.U. the 30th of this month when he will be taking more x-rays and I will talk to him about the other stuff.  Will let you know what he says.  By the way you can read about him on-line.  His name is Dr. Seth Kantor at The Davis Center Ohio state university.  Also I've had a hiatial hernia all my life and the forteo doesn't affect my stomach at all.
