Menopause is defined by one year after the last period. So you’re not there yet. But from the sound of it you are getting close. Staining and
spottingVaginal bleeding between periods are very common at this time. They typical pattern is that periods get lighter, then they get closer together and finally they get farther apart. Although that is the usual pattern, it doesn’t happen like that for everyone. As long as you stain at the correct time (when your period is due) there is no need for an evaluation to see if there is a problem at this time. But don’t be surprised if you have staining for a number of months to come.
