Thanks for the info!  Just this past week I had all the pre menstrual symptomns and then one day later a full fledged period returned after aprrox. 16months of no period.  I guess I will be off to visit with my Doctor next week, as it has been six days now and am only spotting now.....however....I also have pressure pain radiating into the rectum area when I stand and walk or when I sit down it is very painful on my rectum....I wonder what that is all about....Like I say, I will be off to discuss all this with my Doctor next week..  Its great to be able to discuss this with women who have similar problems...

I totally agree with everything Maggie367 has said in her post above.  A LOT of women have postmenopausal bleeding and it turns out to be nothing but, it warrants a check up with your doc to just be on the safe side.

A lot of women also continue having "phantom period" symptoms, getting all of the PMS symptoms but, no periods.  It's quite common actually.

Do make an appointment with your doc.  At minimum, he/she is going to want to do an ultrasound to check out ovaries and uterine lining thickness as well as for fibroids that may not have shrunk just yet.  They may also be the cause of the cramping and postmeno bleeding too.  Your estrogen levels could still be just a tad on the higher side or your progesterone too low.

Best wishes!  Please come back and update us!

I had a period after more than a year into menopuase.  My doctor  did an endometrial biopsy which turned out fine.  Athough it is not uncommon to have postmenopausal bleeding, The source must always be checked out.  A visit to your Gno is in order.
