I have been ovulating at 52 years old every 25 days and presented to the Gyne with SEVERE
breast pain for the past 3 weeks. He asked if there was any risk of pregnancy and I said no
(thinking to myself he should remember he clamped, resectioned and tied my tubes in '96). I said
I had had some unusual brown bleeding in the last month and the endometrial lining was a '6' (learned
this during a hospital stay the month prior for pelvicKegel exercises Pelvic adhesions Pelvic inflammatory disease (pid) Pelvic laparoscopy Prostatitis - nonbacterial Uterine prolapse pain) which may be normalNormal saline flush for my age still menstruating
but as an OCDObsessive-compulsive disorder type, I thought with the amount of estrogenHormone replacement therapy I was feeling in my breasts (12 on scale of 1-10)
and the brown bleeding that I may be at risk for uterineDysfunctional uterine bleeding (dub) Endometrial cancer Fetal heart and uterine contraction monitor Intrauterine device Intrauterine growth restriction Normal uterine anatomy (cut section) Uterine anatomy Uterine fibroids Uterine prolapse cancer. He quickly agreed to do this 'endo Bx' even though it
was not scheduled. He did no urineCalcium - urine Calcium urine test Chloride - urine Cortisol - urine Electrolytes - urine Glucose test - urine Hcg in urine Ketones - urine Kidney - blood and urine flow Lh urine test (home test) Ph urine test test, no blood test and no sonogram and the nurse quickly had me sign
a paper that was not read to me first nor were the pros and cons discussed. The procedure was very painful
and I had to count down from 10 twice squeezing the nurses hand. The 'results' from the lab were:
Proliferative Endometrium however the breast pain subsided just a few days afterwards making me concerned I may have been pregnant? I called to ask the nurse and she said there was a long note in the chart and she can not say that I was not pregnant. The lab results said nothing about 'products of conception' nor 'fetal tissue'....I would have been 5 weeks (from the date I had 'unprotected' but tubes tied? sex). If I had had 'pregnancy blood (the brown blood I was worried about I learned could be the high HCG levels), would the results still say 'Proliferative' or Deciduous Endometrium? Lastly, is Suction Curtegge the usual way to do an endometrial biopsy? Other women have said it is a quick scrape with a small straw...I'm really confused and worried. The Gyne did tell me 'if you are interested? in pregnancy, NEXT TIME, I will do 'what is called an HCG17 test'. He said he did not do it that day as he did not want to delay the Bx (really he had squeezed me in and had a long line of other squeezed in patients as well'. He also had asked me if I had bled any more after the Bx and said if so, 'there is no need for any more testing'? Many people think it would be delusional to think I could have been pregnant. What do you think? Any light you can shed/opinion appreciated. I understand Biopsy results are only? 90% accurate? Any chance I could have been 5 weeks pregnant and have a Proliferative Endometrium result? What is a fetus was dead inside a uterus...what would the path resport show?
if your still ovulating there is a chance of pregnancy, i am assuming at 52 and tubes tied not what you were hoping tho..i haven't heard of a curettage done with out being under anesthetic? and then taking some of the lining to biopsy so im not sure what they were doing to you..surly there would of been fetus tissue if it was a pregnancy? you really should of had an ultrasound as well ..this is a really strange way of going about checking you out..did you have any blood tests to check on hormonal levels? im not sure but could at 52 be connected to menopause as well maybe? just a thought..Dawn
