Red Spotting & Passing Quite A Bit of Tissue

Red Spotting & Passing Quite A Bit of Tissue

I'm 46 years old, have had text book cycles for the past 5 years, no children. In Jan. my period was late by a couple days, but then normal...I had regular cycles for Feb., March, and April. My period typically last 5 days. My cycle pretty much ended on April 13th...but then a couple days later, I started noticing some light pink spotting when I would wipe after going to the bathroom. In the past I would have some very light brown spotting for a couple days and that would be it. But this time, I can't get it to stop, it will be 2 weeks on the 22nd since the first day of my last period, and I'm still spotting, although now it is more red. A couple days ago, I noticed that I would pass some clots/tissue when I would urinate, (which is unusual for me). Today, it has been horrible. I have almost been freaked out by some of the tissue that was on the tissue paper when I wiped. It's now happening each time I go. I'm spotting a little heavier today as well. I don't know if I should be concerned or not, or if it's possible that it is just my uterus shedding some of it's lining as I move in to the menopause stage of my life? I have always had normal paps and regular check ups. But this time I'm alittle concerned, because it has never happened before. So I guess I'm just looking for someone who can say they have had the same problem, that it could be menopause, or do I need to get to a doctor right away? Thank you for any advice or help! Oh...I should mention that I have been having some cramping in my uterus and ovary areas as well, like I was getting ready to start my cycle.
