I'm 57 and still not in menopause. My FSH is only 8.5 and my estrodial is 46. Sometimes I skip a month or two and other times I have bleeding with periods that last for weeks and I have to take progesterone pills to stop the bleeding. My doctor thinks maybe I should have an endometrial ablation but it is my choice. On the other handHand or foot spasms Hand tremor I could go into menopause next year (I've been telling myself this for a few years now) Are there any documented cases of a womanWomen's way NEVER going into menopause? Any gynecologists out there who can answer that question?
I am 53 and still waiting...to be done. SO, what do you want to do? How are you feeling?
Does it matter to you how long this goes on? What about your mom's menopause, when did it occur? I have asked myself some of these exact questions too.
What do you think are the pro's and cons to the ablation?
Well, my mother finished at about age 52. My sister is done at age 52 also but she had chemo so maybe that finished off her ovaries.
I don't like going under any anesthesia, although some people seem to like it. Also if you have an endometrial ablation, how can you tell if there is cancer occuring in your uterus? One of the symptoms is abnormal bleeding and now you won't bleed because you don't have the lining anymore.
