Spotting Post Menopausal

A few months ago I was helping my daughter move and while lifting I felt something funny in my vagina but kinda shrugged it off because I was to busy to worry about it at the time...after getting home and getting into the shower I thought about what happen and I investigated and I felt a bulge in my vagina....freaking out I called my Mom and she said it was probably just my uterus or something dropping down and to stop lifting. This was around June July this year..during this time I have been on an emotional roller coaster with personal issues my stress level on a scale of 1-10 was a 20. I was sick all the time with stress barely eating. Around end of Aug or beginnig of September I got vaginal spotting...it lasted a few days and then nothing for a week maybe more and then it would happen again maybe for a day and then nothing ..its just been very light spotting on and off ,like now its been four days , never enough to be seen on clothes or anything and always saw it after going to the bathroom....I did go to the Dr...upon her exam she did a pap test and a vaginal exam and said she felt nothing abnormal but that my uterus was slightly enlarged and I had a slight bladder and bowel prolapse. Due to the spotting she told the receptionist to set me  up for an ultrasound and a vaginal one if needed.I thought for sure after the exam I would come home and have all kinds of spotting going on but there was nothing for almost a week then I had some this past Friday....what I want to know is with all the info I just gave is there a chance I can have uterine cancer or some other type....I didn't know if prolapse can cause spotting or stress ....I tried to talk to my Dr before I left the office and she just said she would talk to me after all results were in so that has left me really scared. I have my ultra sound tomorrow and then my Dr appt is not till the first week of December. I am going to be really sick between now and then with stress and worry about this.

...I have my dr appointment this Thursday....I am not sure how thick my lining is she didn't say ..what did they do to you because of your thickness? I am still having spotting though....I went almost week half and nothing and then I was on my feet a lot with shopping Thanksgiving night and Friday and Saturday and Sunday I woke up spotting. I am not sure what she is going to want to do but just praying its nothing serious or bad

.....UP-DATE ........I had my ultra sound tests done...got results back yesterday....when I called the nurse answered and told me I could put my fears aside I didn't have cancer  she said they saw nothing from the ultra sounds and pap test was fine....but then she told me that my uterine lining was a little thick...I thought that , that was a sign of uterine cancer....and can a Dr tell from a vaginal ultra sound and pelvic ultra sound just how thick the lining is and does the degree of thickness determine  your chances of cancer....I don't go back to my DR till Dec 5th so I am assuming that if the spotting I am experiencing is of concern they would have me come in sooner. She said they may have to do a D&C...if this is the case don't they check the tissue for cancer and that is why they do that?...Still concerned

Hun I haven't had a period in about 8 years, I know I am through menopause only I never had any symptoms of going through it at all. I am not on hormone therapy..The spotting has been kind of weird when it first started it was on and off for about a week and not all day long even then...then I would go for days or week and nothing and then have it again but barely and again maybe just once in the morning and then nothing all day or on and off all day....but before my dr appointment last Monday I had not spotted for about a week, even after the exam and the poking round I had no spotting till I believe it was couple days later and only once and then there has been nothing for almost a week again now. Its just hard because I tried to talk to my Dr before I left asking questions about what my chances were having cancer and if it wasn't that what could it be and she would not talk to me at all just kinda walked away and said we would talk when the tests all came in which is going to be another waiting game because after the ultrasound and everything is done my Dr appointment is not till Dec 3rd. So I have to try and get through Thanksgiving and everything wondering and worrying what could be wrong. I am just beyond scared right now , cant eat sleep I try to be strong but when  you life is already torn upside due to personal issues that has your stress level a 20 on a scale of 1-10 its so hard to do anything....but hun thank you for your time and for responding to me I so appreciate it .

hi angel4boo, prolapses are very common and has something to do with weakening of the vaginal wall b/c you lose  a lot of strength and elasticity when postmenopausal.

How long have you been menopausal(i.e. no period for consecutive 12 months starts menopause. so for example if my last period ever was August of 2011 then August of 2012 counts as month 1 so I would say menopausal for 16 months-aug.2012 til nov 2013).

are you on hormone treatments and if so did you stop/start/change any part of your meds?

as far as your question about uterine cancer i read only 5-10% of postmenopausal bleeding is cancer. So I would just wait til the results come back.
