Spotting

I am 48 years old and started having menstrual changes a year ago.  My periods are coming every 2 to 3 months apart.  They have been pretty normal in amy and length.  I also notice more breast pain and nipple soreness with them.  6 days ago I noticed a very scant amy of pink vaginal bleeding. I assumed my period was starting because my breast had been tender too.  However it has never progressed to a period. I also have some mild left cramping.  It  continues very very scant and pretty much dark old looking blood like you get at the end of a period.  It is a very small amt only when I wipe. Not on a pad.  Is this my period or is something else going on?  Do I need to see my dr?  I had my pap and pelvic in June.
