Strange Menopause

I am 56 years old and officially became post menopausal last April. I looked at lot for symptoms of menopause, but mostly found ads for pills. My mom was no help..just said she never had any symptoms; she just stopped bleeding. So my thoughts were:1) you get some kind of heat wave but everyone described it differently, 2)you stop bleeding (yay!!) 3) your body dries up, must use WD40 for lubrication b4 sex, and you dint want it anyway because you're old, wrinkly and tired. My question is, Are there any other ladies out there who are not dried up, who still have a high sex drive, and few wrinkles; no plastic work,,, I am worried that, although this seems wonderful to me, there may be an undeyimg hormonal problem that should be addressed. Or...should I just lay down and enjoy??

Hi there,
I am new to the forum. I am 58 and petite and slim, after not having sex for 9 years , i met someone who is 56 and in relatively  good shape. I have not had a period for 4 years and had some discomfort, heat in my neck and anxiety during my menopause. Then i felt nothing for years, I am now sexually active again and discovered that we enjoy the sex very much, it is more sensual and i am not dry. He started using condoms but we are now exclusive to each other and we enjoy the sex without them. I have only a concern about 1 week ago, I developed swelling and my breast started to hurt, I felt like I was ovulating. I am confused at that and hope that at this stage I cannot become pregnant. I am going to the doctor, but in the meantime i am so happy that sex is good at this age. Can anyone help out ......I shouldn't be pregnant were my hormones re awaken ?

From your profile picture, you look like you've kept in great shape and look very young and vibrant so, you're doing something RIGHT! :)

Please share with us what you are doing!   I see that you're into holistic and naturopathic areas?  Perhaps, something that you're doing there is what's helping you?

Either that....or, we need to clone you out with your genes so that we can get some of that good stuff too! ;-P

Am I talking to another "one"? Perhaps we could brainstorm some reasons. Then we can be the ones getting rich!
