Thickening of skin at finger tips

Thickening of skin at finger tips

In the last couple of months the skin at my finger tips has become thick and has little feeling in them.  It is dead skin, if I remove it it just comes right back.  Any ideal what is causing this?

Thanks SIssy Jane

It is difficult to say what is causing your problem from the information in your note. It could be due to carpal tunnel or many other conditions. The best thing is to talk with your primary care doctor. If he/she cannot help you, ask for a referral to a dermatologist or a neurologist. They should be able to make a diagnosis.
