any reassurance?

Last period was 1 year,3 mos. ago.  Have D&C, hysteroscopy and laparoscopy sched for Monday. Endometrial lining has been followed for 6 weeks---was 10.7 (mm?) is now 7 and Dr seemed happy abt that. Left Ovarian cyst (complex) was 1.5 cm and is now 1.7cm, no free fluid in cul de sac, CA125 was 12, no family history of ovarian cancer,2 pregnancies, tubal ligation 20 yrs ago. From all I have read chances are pretty good that this is not cancer, but Dr has to be cautious due to my age, etc. Being such a small cyst, I am guessing if it is anything awful, it is probably very early.Reg gyn is doing surgery--he says if it appears to be a malignancy, he will close and refer me to a Gyn/onc for laparotomy. Otherwise, he will remove ovary and tube and then send to pathologist just to confirm the, hopefully, good news. Thank you for any words you might have--I am very nervous abt this whole thing.

It is difficult not to be nervous facing surgery, especially when the diagnosis is unknown. However, it sounds like your doctor has a reasonable plan, although it is difficult sometimes to just look and know if it is cancer. The low CA 125 is reassuring.
The doctor can ask for a "frozen section" and get a preliminary diagnosis the same day which, although not final, can give you a good idea of the diagnosis and hopefully make you more reassured.  I wish you the best.
