could i be going through premenopause?

I had my tubes tied 8 1/2 months ago. I have not had a period at all since then. My breasts are soooo tender and I have been experiencing mood swings. I am 34. Could this have thrown me into premenopause?

A. First get a pregnancy test.  Sometimes people do get pregnant even if their tubes are tied and that causes periods not to come and tender breasts. If you are not pregnant, talk with your doctor and have some blood tests run.  Get a test for prolactin which is the hormone that causes milk production.  Also, a blood test for FSH, LH, estradiol and progesterone can help explain the cause of the absent menses and tender breasts.  After those tests are run, it will be much easier to understand your symptoms.  Usually, tying tubes does not throw women into perimenopause.
