facial hair

I am 47 year old female. I am post menapausal. I do take synthroid for my thryoid. I started noticing in the last year some facial peach fuz. (I am a blonde w/thin fine hair) I am starting to notice the blonde peach fuz in the same areas a man would have facial hair. some of it looks like a 1/4 inch long, real noticeable in the sun or light. What kind of a doctor should I see and do you have any advise on what I should do or what is causing this. Please reply soon. thank you!!

The type of fuzz you are describing can be a normal result of menopause due to increased androgen hormone production. It can also be due to certain medications such as Dilantin. However, it can also be due to some excess production of hormones that is more than normal. See either a reproductive endocrinologist (probably best choice) or an endocrinologist. They should be able to help you.
