fluttery sensation - menopause related??

For a few months, I have been experiencing something I can only describe as fluttery, or like butterflies, or that feeling if you stand too close to an edge of something.  It comes and goes and lately it wakes me up at night.  Not sure, but wondering if can be related to menopause symptoms,  I haven't been able to identify any triggers for this; don't think it should be anxiety but I don't know.  I once asked a doctor, and I didn't get much of a response except they made it sound like menopause is a catch all for anything.  Between these, hot flashes and the rest of the fun, I'm just looking to see if anyone else has any idea.
