I've been a migraine sufferer for roughly 35 years. I've tried nearly all meds, acupuncture, acupressure, massage, meditation, you name it. Nothing worked.
You need to find what works for you.
This is what works for me.
I take a low-dose beta blocker but absolutely no pain meds (not even tylenol), no anti-inflammatories, nor muscle relaxers for any type of pain. Only if my pain is absolutely without a doubt migraine pain I'll take a Frova. It sometimes won't kick it but I tough it out & will wait 48 hrs before I'll take another Frova but still no other meds. The only exception to this is when I'm thinking the pain could send me to the hospital but that rarely happens if I'm on a beta-blocker. Yes, this is difficult and very risky but by nature we migraine sufferers are sensitive to everything.
I decided to try this approach after talking to the National Headache Foundation. They told me about the pain medications causing headaches.
After just one month I went from severe pain every day to having one headache a week & taking Frova just once a month.
The reason for this is rebound headaches. I ran into a loop of headaches & medicines that left me with pain 6-7 days a week for years.
I've found the secret, for me at least, is walking, eating right & minimal meds.
This may or may not be the ticket for you but I'm hoping someone can learn from my experience.
Have you seen a neurologist? Ive noticed many people posting on here linking migranes with menopause,,,Ive never been aware of a connection....anything is indeed possible Id recommend a full neurological work up,
