help! an issue with my mom . please read.

by boosty, Jun 29, 2009 01:26AM
my mom is 50 years old. her period stopped a year ago . it just stopped! thinking ofcourse its menopause. but shes been having cramping and stuff for a week now. a few days ago, she started spotting brown and today she said that her period started.
if this is menopause, why did her period start again and is it bad?
she says that she also has stomach pain like if she has ulcer or something. could it relate? i doubt it.
she has no health insurance and is being a pain in the butt about going to the doctor cause times are so tough with us to even help her out. these check ups cost alot. but no excuse, she needs to go. i am going to make an apointment for her anyway, but i just wanted to see if anyone has heard of this and could it be a sympton of anything else?
thank you ladies

Lots of women have this happen it seems from all that I've read lately.  Iti's likely that she's having some hormonal fluctuations that have started her back into at least another period...maybe, back to cycling a bit again for awhile.  Unfortunately, she really should talk this over with a doctor to be sure.  It's likely not anything to be concerned over but, better to be on the safe side.

Not sure what to say about the stomach pain.  Is she under a lot of stress lately?  It could be that stress is the cause of both the stomach pain as well as her having another period now and the hormonal fluctuations.

I hope that you can convince her to go and get checked out to be on the safe side.  Other than that....your hands are pretty much tied.  She has to want to go and you can lead a horse to water but, you can't make it drink! :)
