natural progesterone

Could using natural progesterone cream 2 wks before period calm anxiety?

For some people, using a natural progesterone does have a calming affect on mood. This is very different from synthetic progesterone such as Provera which can have a depressive effect on some women.  While natural progesterone is not prescribed as a treatment for anxiety, and it is not anywhere near a first line treatment for it, it might be helpful.  Progesterone is also used to treat symptoms of menopause and if that is your situation (can't tell from your note), then it might be improving your symptoms which lets you sleep better and therefore results in less anxiety.
