not sure if perimenopausal

I'm 46 and the past few days have had feelings of dread and anxiety and been snappy w/fiance. I don't have my mother or access to family history so don't know when is typical to expect menopause for my family. I thought I was losing my mind till I looked up symptoms and found those and some others I've been experiencing (weepies, forgetfulness) were on the list. I'm supposed to get married next month! I'm on yaz oral contraceptives. Am I going to stay like this from now on? What can I do? I feel like I'm having a nervous breakdown but glad there seems to be an explanation.

YES..  sounds like peri to me..  I am 43, mine actually started about 5 years ago.  I went from this fun loving, loved every aspect of life, outgoing, no fear, life was great!

about 3 days before period, everyone just needs to leave me alone.  I can feel the rage for no reason build up in me.  The smallest thing just sends me off.  Sometime I think I just pick fights w/my poor poor husband..  

The just before my period.  Hello Anxiety!  Hello, hello.  Oh yea, did I mention guilt.  Oh I am not a good mom, wife, person, find every fault....  Tired, no motivation.  

Day before period, burst of energy..  just to find in about 12 hours extreme exhaustion, oh, then here comes the cramps...

My anxiety truly heightens at the time of my period, and goes for a few days to a week till after my period.  I am totally tired, probably bcz I can't sleep thru the night.  Get up every night about 3 am, only to fall asleep about 30 minutes before I have to get up....

Hang in there..  From everything that I have researched thru the years, this can last 5 - 10 years, yea, it stinks...  I don't have the answer, I wish I did.  Doctors tell me I am too young to be peri, or that I am opposite, bcz my PMS is more like DMS (During) Menstrual Cycle & PMS (Post Period...)...

yes yes and yes!! Feelings of doom, inadequacy, severe bouts of anxiety! I went to my dr and she feels I might be to young and it's mainly stress-I've the worst year imaginable-job eliminated, massive money issues, etc. She thinks it just finally caught up with me but gave me lexapro to try along w/my anxiety meds that seem to have stopped working. I feel like I'm losing it! I hope the new meds help-she said about 2-3 weeks.(help me now!!!)  thanks so much for responding-I was feeling all alone with this.
