I am 56 years old and have been through menapause for 4 years, suddenly I began bleeding heavily and went to see my Gyn/Ob. He did a biopsy. He said the lining was not thick and there was only a very very small fibroid at the top of the uterus. I also have been hurting for months under the right rib cage and at the bottom of the rib cage. I am insulin dependent. My primary care Physician said it was just a pulled muscles. I dont believe that.  Since May of this year I have a orange color on my underware. No blood during this time, now I am bleeding for the past 3 days very heavy. So what do you think this could possiblly be going on with all these symptoms. I feel my primary physician has over looked something. I am also tired, and sometimes get sick to my stomach. My appetite is not what it used to be for the last 3 days . Help me please.

It is very difficult to know what the cause of your symptoms are without an exam and additional information. However, her are some things that might help. It is good the lining of your uterus is thin. Looking inside the uterus with a telescope called a hysteroscope can help make the diagnosis. At 56 it is also a good idea to get a colonoscopy to be sure the pain is not intestinal. Also ask your doctor to check for blood in your stool. Depending on which side the pain is one, the pain could also come from the liver or spleen. Discuss with your doctor if he/she thinks it would be helpful to get a MRI of your abdomen to be sure the problem. If you are unhappy or not confident with your doctors diagnosis, consider going for a second opinion just to be sure.
