test for estrogen to diagnose tachycardia?

I'm wondering if anyone's doctor has tested estrogen levels to help with the diagnosis of menopuasal tachycardia. I love my doctor, but she immediately jumped to sending me to a cardiologist and predicted catheterization for my tachycardia, and then i discovered that it's a symptom of menopause. I had PVCs at one time and they went away when I gave up caffeine. I just want to know if this is menopause related before I get into the cardiologists office.
Thanks to all of you. It's a great relief to read your questions and realize I am not alone.

HI,
Tachycardia is not one of the manifestations of menopause. Also menopause increases the risk of cardiac problems in women and brings them at par with men. Hence it is recommended that you have a cardiac evaluation. It need not always be a heart attack but precautions are better than cure in matters of the heart.
Take care.
