weight loss

I have had trouble maintaining my weight since menopause.  I lose weight very easily now.  Over the last couple of years I have had a CT, MRI, and all sorts of bloodwork.  My doctor is convinced it is just one of those things.  Said she has a handful of patients that have the same thing after menopause.  I take effexor for hot flashes, cholesterol medication and advair.  I can't imagine any of them making me lose weight so easily.  I was never heavy, but watched what I ate.  But this is different.  I lose if I don't eat well now.  I get concerned about every little ache wondering if it could be a cause.  I have some bone and muscle pain, but believe that is from my cholesterol medication.  My colon has slowed down but I think that is age related.  Just don't know if I should worry or not.  It's been going on for a couple years now.  I am 54 years old.  What do you think??

All I can say is, I wish I had this problem, especially if you are not ill. I swear I just look at food, and on goes a kilo or two. I put on 20 kilos in the 9 years since having my uterus removed, and have just recently had my ovaries removed, so I'm hoping it doesn't cause any more weight gain. Keep up your healthy diet, but maybe you can allow yourself a few more of lifes (fattening) little luxuries. Have some for me while you're at it.

Have you been checked for hyperthyroid?  When I was diagn. I was probably 15 pounds underweight and did not have any other symptoms.
