    I take Fosomax.......How long have you been taking your meds?....Do you have any symptoms from osteo?.....I am 51, just found out I have it......Thank you so much for answering.

No sides from Actonel...I've been on it for two years.  A little dental problem but okay.  I have osterpro in my spine nowhere else.  Lori

I don't know what the questions are but I will tell you what I know. I have osteoporosis, and took Fosamax for 6 weeks got heatburn real bad and the dr took me off of that because you can get real bad digestive problems with that drug.  I am taking nothing.  I fell a half a dozen times and did not break yet!   I was really paranoid when they first diagnosed me with this, but have since decided that this is the new popular disease until they can come up with a new one.  I have stopped worrying about it!

Hi there. I just joined a few weeks ago and it takes time to work your way around here.I am 46yrs, post menopause and have Osteoporosis in my left hip. First thing you must do is find out all you can yourself and then come back here with your questions. I am taking"Ideos" which contains2,500 mg of calcium and Vitamin D 3,400IU. I have also been put on "Fosamax"70mgs,but am rather nerveous of taking it. One reason why Im here! Ive also been told to do weight bearinr exersises in the gym. 5 days a week, for a half hour.( I start on Mon). Like you I was  terrifed when I found out but i think the answer from madgeOwen(above) sounds great to me.  Best wishes,cath278
