Thanks for coming in with some more informed, and useful, advice.  If you'd responded earlier, there would have been no need for someone as uninformed as me to make a comment.

As it was, it'd been two days since the question was asked, NO-ONE had said anything to help this guy, so I thought he'd appreciate at least one person responding and sharing their views rather than total silence.  I was careful not to say anything categorical, because this is not a subject I know a great deal about, but I still maintain there are a lot of scammers out there selling ineffective cures to the desparate.

I'm glad someone has been able (eventually) to provide a more informed opinion than I could.

It always cracks me up to see people like you spouting off about things you know nothing about. "I doubt there are any creams or pills that actually work.  There may be re-planting methods that are effective, I really don't know." ever heard of minoxidil or finasteride? both are proven and FDA approved to re-grow hair or prevent further loss. "There may be re-planting methods that are effective" ????? really, may be effective, it's called hair transplantation and it is incredibly effective, the FUE2 technique leaves minimal scarring and really helping people with MPB. Next time before you give such "sage" medical advice, do some research or let the people with knowledge answer the questions.

Luck of the draw mate - I'm afraid you just drew the genetic short straw.  Some guys start losing their hair very early.  My grandfather had lost all his by the time he was 30, apart from a rim around the side and back (luckily I haven't inherited that gene!).  A colleague of mine at a previous job had lost most of his by his late 20's, and I've known plenty who have lost a lot of hair by their 30's.  It just happens.

There are a LOT of scammers out there waiting to prey on men worried about losing their hair, selling creams, pills, whatever.  So, if you do go looking for a treatment, be VERY sceptical - every treatment you come across, start by assuming that it is a scam, before you see if they can convince you it is not.  I doubt there are any creams or pills that actually work.  There may be re-planting methods that are effective, I really don't know.

Or just accept the hand nature has dealt you.  Wear a short haircut, then it will be less noticeable as more and more of it disappears.  Guys with significant bald patches whose remaining hair is long or thick look daft.
