im sorry but i have to dissagree with all of this, i am a moderately religeus 15 year old, i CANNOT live with this, to say honestly it is my lifes goal to be free of masturbation overriding everything except grades and health. so far i've found that chocolate actually tends to help against the urges, chocolate releases endorphins which calm you down and make you feel happy thereby canceling out the urge. also i've found that if your despirate pain is a very good deterent but for obvius reasons shouldn't be over used. also wearing tight underpants instead of boxers helps. honestly speaking though i am preatty badly hoocked, i've had the problem since i was in the 8th grade and while i have made soem progress im still not cured. so basicly try following the tips i put up and also think it through for yourself and find what works for you so quick recap
1) have a bit of chocolate daily
2) wear tight underpants (i know its uncomfortable but it helps)
3) sleep in tight underpants instead of boxers
4) stay away from porn (duuur, kinda obvius)
5) try to distract yourself if you have an urge
6) quick showers
7) in case of emergency hit your head on the wall or eat a halajpinyo or something tat will be painful enough to snap you back to your sences
8) probably the most important point is don't kill yourself if you fail, its the selfhating and embarassment that will cause the worst simptoms
9) excersise daily (preferably cardio)
10) eat a healthy diet, im nto sure why but it helps

Actually when you have sex it's less an energy thing and more from the release of endorphins in you brain

rulerishere: it makes sense that you would urinate after masturbation, though I can't really explain why right now... I'm having a bit of a brainfart.

And as for sleeping afterwards, that's normal, and can be explained thus: all energy is essentially libidinous (sexual) energy, that's why taking stimulants makes people horny, that's why eating chocolate makes you horny, because they give you energy.  If you kill that energy by masturbating, you want to go back to sleep.  It's a very common experience, and a piece of popular comedic culture, for instance, men falling asleep right after sex, is a common subject among comedians.

I should think it has absolutely NOTHING to do with height; height has nothing to do with anything sexual, despite what urban legends have to say about it.

wow its hard to read text talk , i must be getting old ! lol
anyway ,all men materbate religous or not and no harm comes from it when you do . its better to maserbate than go sleeping around to control sexual urges and then you are at risk of goodness knows what . its your body and your life its perfectly natrual thing to do ! enjoy your own body and its nobodys place to say its wrong . i have nothing against religon but it has a lot to answer for in this world !

I know where you are coming from when you said you did not want to contradict your religion, I am lots of years older than you, yes I believe in God, but have trouble coming to terms with religion, that does not stop me from feeling guilty when I masturbate.

The way I see things God made us and made us the sexual beings we are, I for one have a very active sexual appetite, my wife does not have the sex drive that I have so I masturbate 3 4 times a week, what is best, me having a few fantasies and masturbating or me going out and having sex with another woman, I dont know what God thinks but I have a feeling masturbating is not as bad as committing adultery,

To me masturbation has become part of normal life, thats the way it should be, some say a sin is a sin, I dont like judging anyone and others including the church should keep their nose out of my life, only person to judge properly me will be God.

I have been masturbating for about 51 years, no side effects for me, in fact I have a feeling my health is better for it, my Urologist told me my prostrate was in great shape, I dont care how many men masturbate, I like you, do it to relieve stress, enjoy.

Cant imagine what the world would be like if all men stopped masturbating, jeez its bad enough the way it is.

This from a doc.  You are perfectly normal.  Don't worry so much about it.  Mastubation is a safe way to relieve sexual  tension.  Nobody gets pregnant, nobody gets infected.
