Anti-fungal regimen vs. prostatitis?

Guys;

A lot of us have taken multiple antibiotic therapies in order to deal with prostatitis.  However, has anyone taken any antifungal treatments?  My wife - who is a doctor - is going to put me on an antifungal regimen to see if it doesn't help my symptoms.  But I thought I should see if anyone has tried this before.

until i up came with fungal prostatitis thing,

I would add, that this article might be the first one on the subject,


despite all the advances in modern medicine, no one really knows about it!

we are suffering here and they are partying with their modern medicine

so please forward this to every one who could be of help, i need all the help i can get.

one more thing, for the people that say " air borne mold" has no effect,

I can feel the effect almost instantaneously, within on minute , fires startes down there,,

Thank you for the information - I checked the page you referenced as well...it looks like this doctor is on to something!

One of the reasons that I am curious about a fungal infection in the prostate is because I, like many other prostatitis sufferers, suffer from irritable bowel syndrome, which has long been postulated to be caused by Candidia infection.  It would make sense that if the IBS is caused by a fungus, then that would spread to the prostate and be extremely difficult to dislodge.

This has been good reading ...I have been to 15 Dr's in the past 10 years and am getting more help off the board...I guess I have candida...yeast problems...any help??? talk to me

I suffered severe prostatitis right after a vasectomy that has plagued me for twelve years.  I have been on fluconazole since last summer at 150mg per day, liver is perfect, bad (LDL) cholesterol went low range, good (HDL) cholesterol is above range.  Some days the ringing (tinnits) stops.  My gereral health has improved.  Recently chloramphenicol has been found to be antifungal and it was added as well and my life is becoming normal again.  I used some castor packs which shook things up and I spent a weekend resting.  I can say that my prostate was full of fungi and I can see a day when I will be back to nromal except that my wife left me eleven years ago.  My urolgist finally admitted that vasectomy was in his opinion a factor in many divorses and erectile dysfuntion in about one third of his patients.
