BLOCKED ANAL GLAND

Hi there,   I have a small lump on the outside of my anus, I have been to the Doctors who have advised me that it is a blocked anal gland and that it should go on its own - I still feel a little uneasy about this and cannot find anything on the web with regard to this (mostly seems to be prevalent in dogs!!) - Any useful information would be appreciated or account of similar experience.   This was a week and a half ago that I visited the Doctor and it is showing no signs of going away!

Many thanks
