Depigmentation around lower scrotum area

For the past 3-4 years I am facing depigmentation of lower scrotum - only the area of scrotum that rubs against the upper part of legs (thigh). The area of depigmentation increased slowly, and now it is practically 80% of the area of the inner lower scrotum.
My own diagonsis is that the depigmentation is result of local trauma caused by running marathons or may be due to sudden increase in body mass, that may have caused the thigh skin to chaff against the scrotum.
Has anyone seen or heard a case of depigmentation caused by chaffing/local trauma? Should I expect this depigmentation to stay local or start appearing across other areas of my skin?
