Do antibiotics kill good bacteria?

Do antibiotics kill good bacteria?

In my younger years i had taken antibiotics on several different occassions for several different reasons. I am now in my early thirties and have just been prescribed antibiotics. My wife assures me that all antibiotics kill your good bacterias and that i must take some sort of suplement tablets to replace them.

Is there any truth to this, and if yes, why on earth did the doctor prescribing me the antibiotics not inform me of this, or any of the previous doctors i had seen?

Antibiotics can kill good bacteria. That's why a woman can get a yeast infection when being treated with them.
Some people do a yeast cleanse after antibiotic treatment. If your concerned you can always call your Dr and ask or check out a health food store for something to balance out your natural bacteria.  Remar

Hi doctors governments and the multi billion dollar pharmicutical indusrtry will never discourage the public not to take meds as they will lose profit regardless of the side affects.Your wife has a factual point undoubtably and yes it does kill the production of your good bacteria but once you stop the ant biotics your own mechanisms should return to producing good and bad cells to balance and attack inconsistencies with what your symptoms are however there are some rare cases of taking antibiotics affecting you long term in sha allah this is not the case my suggestion is eat plenty of yogurt as this has good bacteria and is very healthy period average a glass a day is good, best of wishes.
