Fear of failure to perform

I have been on several medications for a few years now and have had problems maintaining an erection because of them.  I have used Cialis a few times, some of which worked and some of which didn't.  My biggest fear is failing to perform.  I am afraid of what the person I am with will think and if they will tell other people about it.  Because of this, I avoid asking girls on dates and even flirting with them.  So, I wonder, should I continue to take what I have deemed to be the safer road and avoid these things or go for it even though there is a possibility I might fail to perform?
