As you get older it has a name that cause you to get off balence. Like you are walking and you hit a door way and you thought you was way away from the door.
Hi you may have a middle ear infection or sinus problems. You would need to go to a ear, nose and throat doctor. Also have you had a thyroid test? Ear or sinus may be the problem.Good luck.
Well, I am only 26 and in just the last two weeks have experienced this problem. 'Complete' mentioned to get a thyroid test, and I am hyperthyroid (but have been for about 8 years, and for the last few years have been stable) but this feeling is still very stressful. I am fit, work out regularly, don't smoke or do any drugs, so in terms of lifestyle I don't think I've helped to induce this symptom in any way.
The first time it happened to me was just two weeks ago and I was simply walking down the street. It was almost like I tripped - I turned my head and literally felt like my body was going in two directions. It wasn't dizziness or lightheadedness, just pure imbalance. Luckily at the time I was holding my boyfriends hand otherwise I might have fallen over. Since then it's happened periodically, and more mildly, but it's scary. I haven't had any major testing done, I'm taking it step-by-step so to speak to see if it worsens or passes.
Good luck to you and I hope it gets better, but just so you know, you're not the only one out there.
Most of the time I have this strong off balance feeling and although it is aweful - I have learnt to some degree to lve with it, especialy after undergoing numerous tests and xrays and blood tests and all showing nothing - I finally resorted to ignoring it and just get on with life. I do think stress plays a big part, as the more stress I am under the stronger the swaying off balance feeling. I think sinuses play a big part in the actual condition and relates to stress and the immune system playing up - relax put your feet up and don't let it get you down!
