Husband has crazy thoughts

by eurekas_castle, May 16, 2006 12:00AM
For the past 8 months my husband has been telling me that for no apparent reason he will have crazy thoughts.  Ex-me cheating on him while hes at work, our unborn child isnt his, people are talking bad about him- he says he knows in his heart that these things arent true but cant help thinking them.  Ive tried to help him with this and look up info but I cant figure out and neither can he why this is happening.  It is kind of ruining our relationship in away, we get in fights about this when he starts telling me things that I know arent true and even though I do explain and explain sometimes he doesnt realize until after hes already called me everything in the book and apologizes.  If anyone knows what could be the reason for this or a way to help him please let me know.  Thanks!

Hi, your husband needs to talk with someone. He may have a medical problem or it may be a mental one.Whatever the case he needs to get some help. The things that you are saying he is thinking on all the time could become very dangerous. Those type things are the very reason some people go off and hurt people.I would not play with this as not knowning the cause could get you or someone else in harms way.I would first try to get him to have a complete checkup, talk to the doctor and go from there.ASAP.Good luck.

How old is he? Did he start any new medications around that time? Regardless, your husband very much needs a full medical evaluation for his delusional thoughts. I strongly urge you to make an appointment for him to see a doctor very soon.

maybe he's insecure or maybe really scared of losing you and your child.  maybe he needs to talk to a counselor.  I'm sure there is an underlying cause.  good luck.
